Wetland on the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Lake Jandari is a lake located partly in Georgia and Azerbaijan. The lake consists of shallow, silted areas and deeper water. The water level in the lake fluctuates throughout the year, creating interesting foraging areas for migrating waterfowl such as ducks and wading birds. Many migratory birds are present during spring and autumn, and various bird species winter on the lake.
Species present in spring and autumn include: Жёлтая цапля, Фифи, Малый баклан, Армянская чайка, Чирок-трескунок, Розовый скворец, Краснозобик and Желтоголовая трясогузка. In the reed collars you can find Дроздовидная камышевка and Волчок. The lake is home to a colony of Белощекая крачка and some pairs of Малая крачка breed there. More rare species (for this country) that may be occasionally present are Кудрявый пеликан, Тонкоклювая камышевка and Султанка. Winter is good for several species of ducks.
Lake Jandari is located on the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan. From the Georgian side, the lake can be viewed from the north and east. On the eastern side, there's a jetty from which part of the lake is visible. Depending on the water level, the lake is more accessible. It's advisable to visit several spots around the lake to view the mudflats and reed beds. The lake is easily accessible by car from Gardabani. Press P on the map for directions.
