Most of the area is open rocky terrain with scattered bushes and poplar where a multitude of birds make their home. This includes, among others Dumbrăveancă, Grangur, Prigorie, Pupăză, Pietrar răsăritean, Șoimul rândunelelor, Șorecar mare, Pietrar sur, Ciocănitoare de grădini, Turturică, Sfrâncioc cu frunte neagră andSfrâncioc roșiatic. Erete sur, Acvilă mică and Barză albă also often pass by.
In the northern end by the Buzau river other birds such as Egretă mică, Pasărea ogorului, Prundăraș gulerat mic, Fluierar cu picioare verzi, Fluierar de mlaștină and Chirighiță cu obraz alb Can be seen.

Access
A large gravel road runs through the area from Bentu to the Buzau River. It is recommended to drive to the northern end of the area where most of the birds are located. From here the area can be explored on foot or by bike.
