Description

Lake Jandari is a lake located partly in Georgia and Azerbaijan. The lake consists of shallow, silted areas and deeper water. The water level in the lake fluctuates throughout the year, creating interesting foraging areas for migrating waterfowl such as ducks and wading birds. Many migratory birds are present during spring and autumn, and various bird species winter on the lake.

Species present in spring and autumn include: üstökösgém, Réti cankó, Kis kárókatona, örmény sirály, Böjti réce, Pásztormadár, Sarlós partfutó and citrombillegető. In the reed collars you can find Nádirigó and törpegém. The lake is home to a colony of fattyúszerkő and some pairs of Kis csér breed there. More rare species (for this country) that may be occasionally present are Borzas gödény, Fülemülesitke and Grey-headed Swamphen. Winter is good for several species of ducks.
