A route along the areas north of the village of Lefkos.
A walk that will take you round the areas north of the village of Lefkos. The first part (if you walk counterclockwise) will be through forested areas where Серая мухоловка, good amounts of Обыкновенная горлица, along with the all present Средиземноморская славка can be seen.
On the northern side of the area (just before the landscape opens up), there is a drinking trough for the goats. It's worth stopping there for a while, as quite a few birds tend to gather.
On the western parts the landscape opens up with bush- and grassland, surrounded by the cliffs and ridges. Here Чеглок Элеоноры, Испанская каменка, Синий каменный дрозд and Красноголовый сорокопут can be seen. At the crossroad towards the nudist beach there was seen a family of Восточноорфейская славка.
The walk ends down a gorge and the remarkable sandstone cliffs along the coast. Finish your walk with a coffee and some of his marvelous bakings at the village baker - The Muffin man, driven by the friendly Nikos.
The circular route shown on the map is about 7 km. Along the eastern side of the route there is a house with some dogs (not at a leash when I passed, but they seemed quite cool).
Along the western side there is a farm with plenty of dogs, from what I could see all but one in cages, neither this one caused any problems.
I only visited the area a few times in July. Please share more information (if you can provide it) about other seasons by leaving leaving a comment below.
